I do believe that 'swimming' will be a common theme for us this summer. Brynley wants to go on the back deck pool every day and starts asking for it the minute she wakes up. I also hope to get her to the bigger pool in town at some point this summer. For now, the backyard pool is working out well...and my sweet little Bryn is having a blast!
In other baby news, yesterday was actually my due date, but I am still very much pregnant. When the baby arrives, this blog will be for both of my dear children and I will be keeping the same URL. I'm not sure what I'll do about the name of the blog, but I'm open to suggestions (I know I only have about 7 readers...and only 1 that comments..but you all are creative so help me out!)
Ok...so it isn't quite summertime yet, but this past weekend sure did feel like it! I believe that Virginia now only has two seasons: summer and winter. Too bad fall & spring are my favorites!
Since it was a gorgeous day on Saturday, we invited the Franklin family over for an impromptu cookout. Unfortunately Jack was sick so he stayed home and Melinda brought Kirsten and Tyler. The kids had a blast in the baby pool and then we enjoyed burgers and hot dogs on the grill.
Some pics from the day: Thanks again for joining us, Melinda, we had a blast!!
I'm a brave woman: I took Bryn to Chuck E. Cheese's for the first time ever on a SATURDAY! I know, I know! We joined Auntie Heather and the triplets and, needless to say, had a complete blast.
Brynley ate a ton of pizza to fuel herself for the fun ahead:
Washed down with some lemonade: She began her adventure in the toddler area by going on this slide about 563,478 times. A slide...like we have in our backyard! haha :) This car ride with Chuck himself was another big hit. Three times straight. It printed out cute black and white photos for us each time. Ahhhh....the slide again:
The merry-go-round: Not pictured: A few other toddler games, B's attempt to climb up the ski-ball ramp, our failed sketch machine thingy (B wouldn't sit still), lots of running on B's part, lots of chasing on Mommy's part, and one big temper tantrum to top it off....not because we were leaving, but because I wouldn't let her take her lemonade with us. After a bit of retail therapy for us older girls, we headed back to Heather's house. Brynley decided she wanted to wear one of the kids' helmets and "ride" the scooter, which was basically just pushing it around. At least she wore her safety gear while she did it. These photos crack me up....look at the determination on her face! After our long and fun-filled day (with NO nap!), the adventure only continued. Brynley and I went to Erika's house for a cookout. Mommy's friend Jen was there too...we surprised her! Bryn had a great time running around the playground with all the other kids. She even learned how to climb the ladder to a big slide and went down it again and again. It was much faster than any slide she had ever been on and it surprised her at first, but she liked it. I didn't take any photos at the cookout, but Erika did so hopefully I'll get those posted soon. <hint, hint>
About a week ago, Brynley enjoyed her very first ice cream cone. It was very entertaining to watch and she thoroughly enjoyed it. We ended the event with a shower; Bryn now likes to shower with Mommy.
