Brynley has surprised me by sleeping through the past two nights! Part of me wonders if I'm just sleeping so soundly that I don't hear her, but I don't believe so. I think she is actually sleeping long hours. Let's hope this lasts!
The other wonderful thing that Bryn is doing now is giggling...A LOT!! Rob is really good at making her giggle. I can do it too...especially when I sing "John Jacob Jingle-Heimer-Schmidt". Do you remember that song? The first part of it gets quieter and quieter, but the last line is LOUD every time. She loves it and giggles like crazy every time the song goes from very quiet to very loud.
Brynley & I are off to her very first birthday party today...Heather's triplets turned 4!! We are looking forward to spending the afternoon with our friends and hope to take many photos. As I write this, B already has her party dress on and she is taking a nap so she will have plenty of energy for the party!

Picture heavy post!!
I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted! I knew it would be tougher to keep up with it once I returned to work. The transition back to work has gone pretty smoothly. Bryn is enjoying her "Gramma" and "Daddy" time. I miss her like crazy when I'm at work and I'm giddy on my way home...so excited to see my little girl!
Here are some photos that I have taken over the last two weeks:

Three month photos...

- babbles & giggles a lot...especially in the morning
- has the most beautiful smile
- sucks her left thumb or her left thumb & index finger together
- kicks off blankets all the time
- grabs/swats at her toys
- goes to bed at 8:30pm....usually
- loves music & singing
- is ok with bathtime if I cover her with a dry, fluffy towel and only uncover the parts as I'm washing them, then quickly cover them back up!
- woke up this morning babbling...not crying...and grinned at me when I went to get her
- has blue eyes
- does not sleep through the night
- Typically, she will wake to eat at 11pm, 3am and 6am. (Mommy usually sleeps in 2-3 hour stretches, something she never thought she would get used to!)
- A few nights she has woken up only once between 8:30pm and 5am. So nice!

Daddy love & three months old
Something tells me that these two really like each other:

All photos taken on 5/13/09...Brynley's three month birthday!
At three months old, Brynley:
- Has only dropped that 3am feeding ONE time, but it was the night before Mommy's first day back at work so that was thoughtful!
- Babbles, babbles, babbles...a LOT! (especially in the morning)
- Swats and occasionally grabs her toys
- Loves music
- Kicks those feet around like it is her job!
- Smiles at funny noises
- Seems to be a morning person
Mother's Day
After many years of wanting to be a Mommy, I was thrilled to finally get to celebrate my first Mother's Day. Brynley gave me a sweet card, yummy ice cream, and a bottle of wine named "The Good Daughter"! Very true!
Below are some pictures of my girl, all dressed up on Mother's Day. (Photos taken 5/10/09)

Soaking it all in
I can spend hours watching Brynley observe the world around her. It seems that every day she is learning and growing before my eyes! So I sit and watch her soaking it all in.
And it hits me: time goes too fast. Every day she is making new discoveries. Every day she gets a little bit bigger...a little more independent.
I love to kiss my daughter on her cheeks, her nose, her head, her tummy, her hands, her feet...and I realize that there will come a day when I can't kiss her on her tummy or her feet. There will be a day when it is inappropriate. I will keep kissing her cheeks as long as she'll let me, but there will also come a day when she will find that utterly embarrassing. It makes me a bit sad. So I pay more attention to the moment we are in.
I soak it all in.

New post...old pictures...
I have some pictures in my camera that I need to upload, but in the meantime I still wanted to complete a quick post.
Brynley has been sleeping in a bedside cradle since we brought her home from the hospital. On Thursday (4/30), she slept in her crib for the first time. She did wonderfully and has slept in the crib each night since. I believe that first night was harder on me...I was just down the hall, but was teary-eyed because I missed her (pathetic, I know!). The cradle is still in our bedroom for now, but she has continued to sleep in her crib every night. My little girl is getting so big, so fast.
Bryn is also becoming more coordinated. Besides holding her head up (which I've mentioned before) and sucking on her hands, she can now push her pacifier back into her mouth when it has fallen out! She just uses the back of her hand and pushes it to her mouth. Amazing.
I've never been a morning person, but now mornings are my favorite time. I greet my daughter with a happy "Good morning, Brynley!" and she grins, smiles, and coos like crazy. (I have a video of our little morning ritual, but still haven't figured out the logistics of getting the video from the camera to the computer!) Just today as she was cooing, she started to make a noise that sounds like ba-ba, but I say it sounds like Mama. :)
And no post is complete without some pictures...so I leave you with some "older" ones...
