First day of school
Today was Brynley's first day of preschool (P3). I'm not exagerrating when I say that she has been looking forward to this for a year. She has been so excited to go to school; however, she was not too thrilled a few months ago when she found out that I don't actually STAY there with her!
I dropped her off in Mrs. Weber's classroom today and a few tears were shed (hers). I left, but lingered just a moment in the hallway until I couldn't here her cry anymore. Then I asked one of the Dads standing near the door if Brynley had stopped crying and he said yes. So, this self-admitted, over-protective mother went out to her and cried!
I came home, put Roman down for a nap, and realized that I had some time to myself! What in the world is that?!?! I set about cleaning the house and puttering around on different projects. Two hours flew by and Roman woke up. He played for about 30 minutes and it was time to go pick Bryn up.
She was so excited to see me, but she wanted to stay at school! She ran around with some of the kids outside while the moms took pictures. (Later, Bryn told her Daddy, "I just run around with the boys!"...oh boy...).
Upon climbing into the van, Brynley told her baby brother, "I had fun at school, Roman! But I missed you!" Very sweet. She said they had story time, colored a dinosaur, ate snack, played...and I think she may have gotten in trouble for not putting toys away when she was asked. :/
After lunch and nap, both kids woke early due to a loud thunderstorm outside. For the rest of the day, B was kind of a terror. No...not kind of...she was! Pushing and hitting her brother, hitting me when I tried to put her on time out. I'm not sure if it was just the change in routine or what, but I hope it isn't a sign of things to come. She already wants to go to school tomorrow...but she will have to wait until Thursday.
I loved school as a kid. I loved my teachers and learning new things and meeting new friends. I hope my children will find the joy in it as well.
More pics to come...my computer/internet is once again uploading super slow. (Probably why I haven't kept up on blogging!)

Happy First Birthday, Roman!!
Dear Roman,
Happy first birthday, Roman! I am shocked at how quickly a year can go by!
You are such an amazing little baby. You smile all the time and love to make people laugh. Sneezes are very funny to you and your "fake" sneeze is actually quite convincing. You also love to put your pacifier in my mouth and crack up laughing when I spit it out and say, "Blech!"
You are a climber. You aren't quite walking yet although you do stand up without holding on to anything and you try to walk by lunging yourself forward and putting your hands to the ground. But climbing...you've got it mastered. You are not afraid (or not aware) of falling! You are very brave and outgoing.
You are a charmer. From your bright blue eyes to that killer dimple to that belly-deep laugh, you get so much attention wherever we go. Admittedly, you've charmed me too. I am utterly and completely in love!
You don't like to go to sleep, but you sleep very well now. The past few months, I hear you fuss in the night, but it only lasts a moment and you are quiet again before I can get down the hallway. You have been teething which is probably the reason for these middle-of-the-night noises. You have two bottom teeth and four top teeth...those came in one right after the other from left to right.
You are a good eater and you like most of what we give you. I think the only thing you spit out was green beans. Don't feel bad...your sister did too.
Speaking of your sister, you love her. Your face lights up when she is is the room. She can be a bit rough with you sometimes...she likes to pinch your cheeks and tell you how much she loves you. We tell her that you will probably be bigger than her one day and she doesn't believe us. I know you will be though and you will tease...and protect...her as much as she does for you right now.
I love you so very much, sweet sweet boy! You are simply amazing!
Love,
Mommy

Where am I?
I haven't blogged in awhile and the main reason is because Blogger is driving me crazy!!! I loved Blogger from the start - mostly because it was so simple to use. Now it seems that I have major formatting issues every time I try to write a post. It could be user error...I'm not sure...what I do know is that it took me a month to upload pictures from Brynley's birthday party and now it is taking me hours to format the post.
I don't have HOURS to format posts!! :(
So, I will try to investigate further. If it is me, then I guess I have some more learning ahead of me. However, I've been blogging for three years and have never had as many issues as the last few months. If it is Blogger, then I'm not sure what to do. Try WordPress? Try writing my posts in another program and pasting them into Blogger?
Any thoughts?

Sock Hop
On February 18th, we celebrated Brynley's 3rd birthday with a 1950's sock hop. In the weeks leading up to the pary, she was so excited and she asked about her birthday and party every day! Right before her party, I dressed Bryn in her poodle skirt, cat eye sunglasses, and ponytail with a black and white polks dot ribbon in it. She had to go look in the mirror and started running around, dancing, and thanking me for her party. This was before the party even began...haha!
It was a busy day!. There were 11 kids (including my two) and a houseful of adults. The girls all dressed in poodle skirts and cat eye sunglasses. The boys had cool black sunglasses. Traditional diner food was served in diner baskets...hot dogs, sliders, french fries. I made fruity pebble krispie treats, root beer float cookies, confetti popcorn, cake, and actual root beer floats. The day was so warm that the kids actually got to run around outside as well.
Brynley received so many nice gifts and had a blast playing with all the other kids. Without further ado, here are some pics from the party:
Favor bags had 1950's rubber duckies, crazy straws, candy, moon pies, & sunglasses

Bryn standing behind the 1950's car photo-op booth. This is actually the only picture I got of anyone behind it! (oops!)
Love this blog and have printed many of their freeprintables!
