Six months old...

At six months old, Brynley is:

14 lbs 10 oz - 10-15th percentile

24 inches - 5-10th percentile

• She likes to hold someone's hand when tired and falling asleep.
  
• Searches (and finds) things after she has dropped them.
  
• Eats baby cereal and spinach. Next stop: peas.
  
• Babbles a lot...loves to hear herself talk and loves to have conversations with anyone that will talk to her
  
• Likes it when you blow her hair or face. Strange, but true.
  
• Has rolled from belly to back twice, but still can't do it on purpose.
  
• Rolls over from back to belly in the crib sometimes...also will sleep on her side sometimes. She kicks the sleep positioner out of the way.

(upstate) New York, New York!

Brynley, Rob, and I took a trip to upstate NY from 8/13-8/17 to visit my Aunt Sue, Uncle Bill, Grandma, and cousins. After renting our minivan, we loaded it with baby gear and made the 8 hour drive to Utica.

We had a fun weekend with family, food, swimming, relaxing, and catching up. Brynley did so well at swimming this time....she stayed in there for quite awhile and didn't fuss. My cousins were laughing because Brynley was even kicking her feet as if she were trying to swim.

Bryn seemed to have fun too and loved being surrounded by little kids and new adults wanting to hold her and love on her. She did not like going to sleep in her pack and play, however. Bedtime was tougher than normal, but fortunately she readjusted quickly once we got home.

The sound of the video is a little strange...like an echo in a huge, empty room. Probably user error. Still, you get the cuteness factor!

Milestones

Tuesday, August 4th - Brynley ate her first real food (besides Cereal). She had spinach and seemed to like it.

Wednesday, August 5th - Brynley rolled over belly to back for the first time. I think it was an accident; we have not yet had a repeat performance. She is still an expert at going back-to-belly!

As someone who never knew either of her grandfathers, I'm so glad that Brynley is going to know both of hers! She is very fortunate to have Grandpa's who absolutely adore her!!

5 months old (well...5-1/2 months!)

These monthly onesie pictures are getting more interesting as Brynley is getting more squirmy!

At 5 months, Brynley...

• Fights sleep at naptime, but does pretty well at bedtime
• Is actually beginning to enjoy bathtime a bit
• Rolls back to belly, but not belly to back yet
• Has a big belly laugh that, when you hear it, you can't help but laugh along with her
• Tries to mimic sounds that people make
• Babbles and sometimes it sounds like "Mama" or "Hi!"
• Closes her eyes and grins wide when you blow gently on her face
• Is very interested in watching people eat
• Loves animals and music
• Is practicing holding bottles and spoons!
• Sits supported
• Has a family that thinks she makes the world go 'round!
