Bryn's first Easter and now she's TWO months old!

Brynley celebrated her first Easter and it was a busy one! She was at home with me & Daddy in the morning. Then we went to Grandma & Grandpa's house for the afternoon. Aunt Tina cooked a delicious dinner! After dinner, we came back home where Uncle Doug, Jess, and Wes had arrived for their visit. It was the first time that Bryn & her cousin Wes met. Wes drew a picture that says "I love you & Brynley!" I will be holding on to that one for years to come. :)

The Easter bunny brought Brynley a basket of goodies: A bunny stuffed animal, bunny slippers, and two books - one about dogs and one about bunnies! She also got a stuffed bunny with spindly spool legs from Grandma & Grandpa. Too cute!

Brynley seems to like her "pancake bunny". Her "Baby's First Easter" onesie is adorable - it was a gift from Val and Grandaddy Hinkley.

I can't believe my big girl is two months old already! She had her two month pediatrician appointment today (April 14th) and she is doing very well. She now weighs 10lbs and is 21-3/8" long. She screamed during her shots...her poor face turned bright red and she practically stopped breathing! Needless to say, Mommy was crying too!

I didn't get a lot of good pictures of Brynley in her Easter dress, but here she is sneaking in a nap at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Picture taken: 4/12/09

She's got a way about her...

Everyone describes this thing that happens to you when you have your own child...a love that you feel that is beyond words. Today, my daughter did something that just about melted my heart. She smiled...a lot!! I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. I wanted to laugh because it is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I wanted to cry because I am overwhelmed that God has blessed me with such a wonderful gift...that He feels I am deserving of something this amazing. I love you, Brynley!! You are my precious girl!

You've been warned!! View the following images at your own risk.

Bryn has also started to make clicking-clucking-smacking sounds with her mouth and sucking on her fingers. She started this on 4/7/09. Very cute!

A new puppy...

An adorable new puppy, but she is NOT mine!! I couldn't handle one more critter around here! :) This is Izzie, my in-laws new puppy. She and Brynley met for the first time yesterday.
Izzie is worn out!

My beautiful girl

Photo taken 3/7/09
I really want to post some more recent photos, but most of the ones I've taken in the last few weeks are not very good. Rob bought me a digital camera a few years ago...a Kodak EasyShare...and I love it. Lately, however, some of the pictures I take with it turn out all wrong. I don't know how to describe it; they are kind of blurry and look like a painting. Not all the pictures are like this, but most. I've been taking pictures with my regular SLR camera so I hope when I get those developed that there are some gems in there. I've also been taking pictures (and videos) with Rob's camcorder, but I can't figure out how to transfer them so I'm waiting for his help!
Brynley will only be this small once and I don't want to miss these moments! I guess it's time to shop for a new digital camera! Any suggestions?

I told you so...

I've said it several times, but here is proof that my Brynley does not like bathtime. This is a very LOUD time in our house!

Many thanks to Lisa for sending me your photos. Although this is an "old" picture, I love it and had to post it!

Friends & Family

Just a few of Brynley's visitors over the past 5-1/2 weeks. If you visited her and your picture isn't here, it means I don't have any pictures of the two of you together! BOO!

Catching up...

Brynley stayed with "Grandma" deMariano today while I went and got my hair highlighted and cut. As you can see, I got it cut really short!

Grandma says Brynley was a really good girl. She took lots of pictures and videos (Grandma did, not Bryn!). One video is a montage of all of Brynley's perfected looks: anger, surprise, smiles. Yes, smiles!

Tonight I captured a great video of Brynley smiling. It was the first time that I was truly convinced that it was a smile and not just gas. Rob was tickling her and she would just break out into this huge open-mouthed grin. As soon as I find the camcorder cord, I will try posting it to the blog. It is a must-see!

Brynley's last week has been busy. We've been to Grandma's house twice. She met her great-grandmother and a few of Grandma's friends. Her Aunt Tina stayed up late teaching her all about biology and micro-organisms. She met her Auntie Heather and the triplets. Brynley has also been up to her old tricks: She peed on me this time...all down the front of my shirt and the entire right leg of my pajama pants. It was my fault...I took her diaper off before carrying her to the bathroom for her bath and I KNEW better!

Brynley:

  • Still screams throughout bathtime!
  • Occasionally lets Mom sleep for 3-1/2 hours (this is rare, but wonderful).
  • Takes a bottle of breastmilk every once in awhile.
  • Is no longer purple.
  • Loves to have Mommy sing to her even though I have a horrible singing voice.
  • Is infatuated with ceiling fans.
  • Got so mad at me tonight that she kicked her socks off!
  • Fell asleep listening to The Beatles the other night - maybe she remembers me listening to those CDs throughout the pregnancy.
  • Is the light of our lives.
